We hope this newsletter finds you and your families well and safe. We are devastated we will not see our guests from the US at Manotak Lodge this season. We WILL be back better than ever in 2021. The camp is looking wonderful and the fishing pressure has been next to nothing, so those trophy fish are getting huge and will be hungry!
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have worked to update you with posts to our web page and Facebook. We kept hoping the US/Canada border would open and each month we were disappointed. Back in early July, the Canadian government announced a mandatory quarantine through August 31st which basically has sealed our fate for this season. Local and Provincial sentiment for opening the border is extremely negative and we do foresee a continued closure and quarantine measures in place for the next few months. Enough gloom and doom! Let’s focus on the future. We are excited to welcome our repeat guests who know and understand what Manotak Lodge has to offer and we cannot wait to show our new guests the trophy fishing results and the level of service they will enjoy here at Manotak. We believe we are the premier lodge in Northwest Ontario and look forward to showing you what a great value we are for your fishing vacation. We know there are many lodges to choose from and we strive to be the best so you will want to return year after year.

Cabin painting – lots of painting – we are saving some for Gerald!
Cabin 14 bathroom remodel – no more toilet adventures
Cabin 9 bathroom update – you have to see it!
Loose board deck and stair replacements
Tree trimming and brush clearing
Endless mowing and weed eating – our lawn is still the best looking on Highway 105
Menu testing and updates – the guys are trying really hard on this one
Repair siding on the fish house
Cut and split wood for lodge and fire pit – nothing like a good fire pit story
Driveway repairs and new gravel

Fishing research – this one is a total hardship, but we must carry on.
We are about 75% booked for next season due to 2020 basically being cancelled by the government. We have 16 cabins, and we still have many options for your trips in May, July, August, and September. Please call or email or fill out the “book now” form on the website and we can get you open dates, cabins, and pricing for your dream Canadian fishing vacation. Fishing is excellent all season, simply different patterns and techniques. We can help you plan the perfect trip so do not hesitate to use our expertise!
