Hi to all Manotak guests and friends! We are looking forward to a wonderful season here on Perrault Lake, fishing in Northwest Ontario. The lake was officially ice free on May 10th. The lake level is very good right now, but the ground is very dry, and fire danger is very high. A fire ban is in effect. All our staff is here preparing for a very busy season ahead of us. We will try to do better and give weekly fishing reports throughout the summer.
We are very happy to say that Earl and Patsy are back for another season of helping our guests through their week (or more) of fishing! Also, this year we have hired 2 very nice ladies to assist with kitchen help and cabin cleaning (Lisa and Julie.) Mary-Ann will be helping in the laundry and on the ladies’ days off. Christine will be doing most of the cooking this summer. Tori will also be here for Saturday help and to help Earl on the dock. As well we have hired a young man named Gerald to be here 4-5 days of the week.
We have had a few spring projects going on this year that we are very excited about; Cabin 3 is getting a new floor in the kitchen/ living area and bathroom as well as a new toilet. Cabin 1A is getting a new stove. We have also added 40 more feet of floating docks to accommodate more boats. We plan on painting almost all of the American Plan cabins this summer and replacing a couple decks (cabin 14 and 1A.) We have also been talking about some updates to bathrooms and kitchens.
Now for a quick fishing report for everyone! We have only wet a line once so far (kind of sad we haven’t been more) but we caught a 34 inch pike and had a few more on using frozen sucker meat. We took a quick drive up Ord Creek and saw (with the Humminbird) that there were walleyes stacked in every hole! We love all fishing but we are very, very excited to catch and eat some walleyes!

Happy fishing!
