Wishing all of our guests a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2021! We hope Santa brought you all the fishing gear you wanted! We were thrilled to see 2020 leave and are looking forward to 2021. We are hopeful 2021 will bring each of you back to Manotak Lodge for the best trophy fishing on the planet!
First and foremost, we want to thank each of you for the thoughts and prayers throughout 2020. We are grateful for your loyalty to Manotak Lodge and look forward to welcoming each of you back to our piece of paradise. We are incredibly grateful for your understanding the necessity of rolling deposits to 2021. We will be contacting you via email or phone within the next two weeks to re-confirm your reservations for 2021. Although we are sold out many weeks, we do still have some openings for this season. If you don’t yet have your reservation locked in, you have time!
We will not be attending sports shows this season as most have been cancelled. Please feel free to call or write to us at any time. We love to hear from our guests and answer potential guest questions and will miss that opportunity from the shows! We have a toll free number 800-541-3431 or you can email manotaklodge@gmail.com. The fishing in 2021 should be incredible with higher numbers of fish caught due to no fishing pressure in 2020. The sizes of fish will also increase in about 3-4 years. We plan to publish fishing reports on our blog and social media at least monthly.
We have many exciting projects planned for 2021. We will be adding docks for increased space and taking out the boardwalk and replacing it for more space and ease of walking. We also plan to dig up and replace the concrete walkway next to the fish house to make it level. And our third major project is replacing and expanding the deck on the lodge. Of course, more painting will be involved and minor repairs to cabins, as needed.
We know you come to Manotak for the fishing and wilderness experience, but we know you love the food too. We have conducted many cooking sessions to work on new or improved menu items. We think you will love some old favorites and we have new, delicious items planned. As usual, our steak and shrimp feast with blueberry pie will be every Thursday!
We do not have an update regarding the border opening and what will be required when it does. There are many rumors regarding what will be required, such as proof of vaccine and/or negative COVID test prior to entry. As soon as we learn official news from the Canadian government, we will let you know! If you don’t have your passport or state issued Real ID (for land crossing only), you should obtain one right away! You must have a passport to fly internationally.
