Hi everyone! Another fun week is now in the books. Only 2 more weeks until we shut things down for the season.
Grouse season came in Saturday the 15th. We are very excited about eating some tasty little chickens, as we call them. Finally, this past week we got a ton of much needed rain. Along with the rain came some pretty scary lightning, which killed a couple days of fishing for our guests, but well worth it to get the lake level back towards normal.
Walleye fishing last week was very good. Fish were between 25 and 30 ft of water and the bite was minnows. Some guys were having luck trolling crank baits in 30 ft of water. They were using heavy weight to get the bait to the bottom. Not sure if any 30 inchers were caught, but we saw a lot of 25-28” fish caught.
Pike are hanging around the humps mixed in with the walleye. They were also being caught in the thick weeds with spoons.
Perch are being caught in Spadina by the hundreds. Crawlers in 10-12 feet has been the best combo for jumbo perch!
2 weeks of season left to go. June is filling up for next year – June 1-8, 2019, is sold out and May 18-June 1 and June 8-29 weeks are almost sold out of housekeeping cabins! We are also taking steady bookings for July – September, 2019. So, get your name in the book before its too late for your preferred week and cabin!
Deposits for guests who reserved cabins at the end of their 2018 stay must be received by November 1st, 2018!
Happy fishing and safe travels to all!
