Week 5 FishingHi everyone! Last week was a very, very busy week for us! Bass, Musky, and Pike fishing were great last week. The walleye fishing was a bit tough at times. We were dealing with very unstable weather combined with the fish transitioning from the shorelines to the humps. By the end of the week the fishing turned around and started to produce more numbers and size. Top water action is hot for bass right now. We had a ton of smallmouth caught in the 15-19 inch range. We had 1 40″ pike caught and a couple 39s. 1 31″ walleye was caught in the Whale Rock area. Whale Rock was a very good walleye spot this week along with the hump in the middle of Grassy Bay which has now been re-named Hump Arnie (by Arnie’s fishing partners Jay and Bo) after he caught numerous fish over 20 inches there. Jacks Bay was producing a good number of walleye also this week on the right outside point. Camp Island, like always was a good go-to spot for a lot of eater-sized walleye.

On another note we need to put out a riminder that check in is at 2:00 PM on Saturdays. Please plan your travels accordingly to arrive after 2pm. Arriving before 2pm puts a strain on our resources which are devoted to ensuring your cabin, boat, and the lodge are clean and in proper working order for your vacation. We know you are excited for your trip, but please respect the check-in time and do not arrive early.

Happy fishing and safe travels!
