Opening week fishing reportFishing on opening week was far from disappointing! We lost track of the 25-28 inch walleye that were caught. Groups were averaging 75-100 walleye per day. One group of 3 used 103 dozen minnows.  Jeremiah is on the board with a 42 inch pike caught off of Sucker Island. Another guy from Indiana (Lynn) is one the board twice with a 30.5 inch walleye and a 31.5 inch walleye both caught just south of the burnt bridge. Drum Island was very productive along with East Bay And Jackfish Bay. There were plenty of eater size fish still in the river but all the big fish had moved into the lake by opening day. And the best news yet is that the fire ban has been LIFTED! We are very thankful for the rain we have been getting. Please continue to be extremely cautious while having shore lunch and make sure your fires are completely out. Happy fishing!
