Hi everyone! Week 13 was a great week of fishing for the most part. The wind stayed about right all week. The temperatures had some fairly big swings which made the fishing a little tough for Tuesday. The forest fire risk has moved to extreme and MNR has thrown a fire ban. NO open fires.
Walleyes are still around the 25-30 feet range. The bigger fish are closer to 30 and the smaller ones are closer to 25 feet. Minnows seem to be the best bait right now. We are expecting the minnows to be the bait of choice the rest of season. Some really big fish were caught this week including 1 or 2 30 inchers and lots of 27-29s.
Northern are thick on the rock piles feeding on walleyes. We are catching tons of northern mixed with walleyes.
Smallmouth have moved to the 10-20 feet range and are starting to like more of a finesse style bait.
Another note, please do not arrive before 2:00 PM as we are very busy on Saturdays and want to ensure that your cabin is clean and ready for your week of fishing!
Have a nice weekend everyone!
